We are using a broad range of techniques to pursue our research projects:
- Transgenic mice for cell-specific gene manipulations based on the Cre/loxP system (
genotyping protocol for our CreERT2 mice)- Purification of CNS cells e.g. by immunopanning (
rat retinal ganglion cells)- Primary cell cultures incl. "microcultures"
- Electrophysiology (whole-cell recordings)
- Data acquisition and analysis (
Labview, National Instruments)- Standard histological, cell and molecular biological techniques (immunocyto- and immunohistochemistry, immunoblotting)
Moreover, we try to develop new techniques and models to study neuron-glia interactions.
